Steps taken to check outbreak of dengue
Staff Reporter
Bangalore:
The Health and Family Welfare Department has announced a series of measures to prevent the outbreak of dengue in the State.
Speaking at the preparatory meeting held with officials in the department on Friday, Commissioner Basavaraju said steps would be taken to train health personnel in villages to control factors that would lead to increase in mosquitoes and create awareness among the people. Announcements would be made in newspapers and television channels as part of the awareness programmes. A coordinator had been appointed for each district and for areas in BMP limits to get daily reports about preventive measures undertaken. People have also been requested to regularly clean water containers and not let water stagnate in open spaces.
