Government stance flayed

Staff Reporter

KOTTAYAM: The former Supreme Court judge K.T. Thomas has criticised the Government decision not to implement the report of the P.A. Mohammed committee on professional colleges, even after acknowledging its contents.

Mr. Thomas said here on Friday that the contention to the effect that the Government decided not to implement the recommendations of the report to protect the interests of students who had already gained admission to various institutions, amounted to an act of escapism from facing the reality. "I would say it is injustice," he said.

Mr. Thomas was speaking on the occasion of the release of the special edition of the legal publication Niyama Sameeksha here on Friday.

P.K. Ibrahim, president, Human Rights Forum, received the first copy of the special edition.
