KOCHI: The jurist V.R. Krishna Iyer suffered a fall at his home early Saturday morning and was admitted to the Medical Trust Hospital here. Mr. Iyer, 91, who hurt his left arm and back, was hospitalised at 3.30 a.m. Hospital authorities said the injuries were not of serious nature. Mr. Iyer was to have attended a YMCA function at Aluva on Saturday along with political leaders K. R. Gouri and K. Karunakaran. The YMCA, as part of its celebrations of `Fifty years of Kerala,' had announced awards for the two surviving members of the first elected Government of Kerala, Mr. Iyer and Ms. Gouri. Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, who inaugurated the Aluva function, called on Mr. Iyer in hospital in the morning.
