NEW DELHI: India International Rural Cultural Centre (IRCEN) is organising a weeklong "Festival of Folk Dance and Music of India" from October 17 to celebrate the completion of its 27 years. Over a hundred young dancers and musicians from Gujarat, Orissa, M.P., H.P., Maharashtra, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh are expected to take part in the festival. They would present cultural programmes of their respective States. Former Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma will inaugurate the festival at Open Air Theatre in IRCEN Bhawan on Nelson Mandela Road. IRCEN was established in 1979 under the presidentship of the then Chief Justice of India, Justice Y.V. Chandrachudto promote art and social values in the country.
