Thanjavur: Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has got a very good rating both nationally and internationally, said K. Chandrasekar, General Manager, Corporate credit, IOB, here on Friday. Participating in a business meet organised by the bank, Mr.Chandrasekar said that "IOB has been rated as a strong bank and is doing exceedingly well among nationalised banks in the country." IOB's total business has gone up to Rs. 13,000 crore. The bank has fulfilled its commitment to 16 parameters set by the Central Government, he said. R. Vaidyanathan, Chief Regional Manager, IOB, Thanjavur region, said that IOB has branched out into various fields like insurance, mutual benefit fund. IOB fine gold will soon be introduced in Thanjavur region. The scheme is aimed at catering to the needs of investors as a safe alternate source of investment. Sourced from Pamp Switzerland, the 999.9 pure gold will be available in four, eight, 20 grams in round shape and 50 grams in rectangular shape. R. Nadarajan, former executive director, M. Valayapathi, Chief Manager, IOB, T. P. Rajendran, Lead District Manager, S. Chandrasekar, Manager, Neelagirivattam branch of IOB participated in the meeting.
