MYSORE: Gone will be the days when you could fool your boss in Delhi or Mumbai claiming to be in an important meeting while chilling out in the comforts of your home watching a game of cricket. Blame it on BSNL, which will roll out the country's first land-based service (LBS) within a month and change the way mobile phones are used by subscribers. With LBS, one can easily locate and monitor the geographic positions of fellow subscribers and track them down with an accuracy of 50 metres of their exact position and organisations can opt for the services to keep track of their employees. BSNL will offer a bundle of utilities for a nominal service charge and subscribers can get information pertaining to the city. T.K. Chandrashekar, General Manager, Mysore Telecom District, said that LBS would not entail upon the subscribers to change their instrument or buy anything extra.
