NEW DELHI: The Deputy Medical Health Officer (Malaria) of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe from his employee for promoting him. According to the CBI, accused C. P. Singh had demanded Rs. 2,000 from the complainant, a lower grade employee, to promote him. The employee had requested him to reduce the amount but he refused. The complainant subsequently informed the Anti-Corruption Branch of the CBI. Accordingly, a trap was laid near the office of the accused at G-Block in Connaught Place on Friday night. The accused was arrested when he allegedly accepted the bribe.
