HYDERABAD : A modern multi-level parking complex is slated to come up in Banjara Hills soon with the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad likely to take up its construction near Jalagam Vengal Rao Park under the build, operate and transfer (BOT) formula. Three private parties - GVK Industries, Futurage Industries and Patel Industries have already been chosen to construct parking complexes at Secunderabad Gurudwara Bus Station, Khilwat pension office in the old city, besides the one near the park. The MCH had earlier invited applications for setting up of modern parking complexes in the public private partnership mode. On Saturday, private developers plus Commissioner Sanjay Jaju and his senior officials visited the Banjara Hills site.
Easing congestion
With the increasing number of vehicles and large numbers of commercial establishments coming up on Road No 1 of Banjara Hills, the new parking complex could go a long way in solving parking problem in the area, it was felt, according to a press release. The Commissioner also asked his staff to consider the possibility of setting up of a sewerage treatment plant (STP) nearby since sewer water was entering into the park emitting foul odour. The proposed two projects would not disturb the current environs of the park it was made clear.
