DREAM IN PRINT: Y.S. Chowdary, Chairman, Sujana Group, releasing the book `Forever Jeh! Interactions with an Icon' authored by Surekha Tenneti Venugopalin Hyderabad on Saturday.
HYDERABAD: As far as biographies go, it was just one in a long list penned by many. When asked why or what made her do something which others had done before, the lady has a smile in reply before explaining that it was a desire born in her even as a little girl. Surekha Tenniti Venugopal, author of `Forever Jeh ! Interactions with an Icon' told an audience at the launch of the book here on Saturday that it was an attempt to bring before readers' eyes the Tata that she knew from photographs and learning about his adventurism or later as a Tata Steel member, struck by his worth, look and manner. The book was launched here by Y.S. Chowdary, Chairman, Sujana Group of Companies in the presence of M. Gopalakrishna, Director-in-Charge, AP Gas Corporation, litterateur C. Narayana Reddy and K.S. Sarma, former CEO Prasar Bharati, with V. Malkonda Reddy of Chaitanya Bharati Educational Society presiding over the function.
Role model
As one also in the business of making steel, Mr. Chowdary said everyone at Sujana Group tried to emulate JRD Tata's qualities and were constantly learning lessons from the unforgettable icon of the 20th century. Recalling the line that while some were born great and others had greatness thrust on them, he said that both could be attributed to JRD Tata.
