VISAKHAPATNAM : "Eupatorium perfoliatum 200" and "Gelsimium 200" are the preventive medicines available for dengue fever which has already spread in 18 States in the country claiming many lives. Both medicines have to be taken five times everyday for a week as per the symptoms, says Suresh Somayajulu of Sri Surya Multi Speciality Homeo Centre in the city. Dengue fever occurs when an infected ades aegypti mosquito bites a human.
Symptoms
The fever occurs in two forms - classic dengue and haemorragic fever. In the first form there will be abrupt onset of fever, headache, pain in eyes, and severe backache. Skin rashes will also occur Though the fever stops afterwards, its effects takes a longer time to recover. In the second form of dengue - haemorragic fever, a severe form, the fever starts with mild symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection followed by sudden onset of haemorrages in the skin. There will also be nose d to death.
