Infant run over by van

HYDERABAD: A three-month-old baby girl was crushed under the wheels of a van at Red Hills on Saturday.

According to the police, the baby Afreen Begum's mother Fathima Begum left the infant on the pavement and went to attend some work when the van driver, who was proceeding towards Devi Bagh, suddenly took a turn from the left side. The vehicle jumped onto the pavement crushing the infant. The police said Fathima and her three daughters were residing on a pavement near Yousfain Dargah at Red Hills. A case of rash and negligent driving was registered against the van driver who is absconding. The baby's body was handed over to her parents after conducting an autopsy at the OGH.
