Jockeys fined

MYSORE: The following jockeys were fined after the Mysore races held last week.

Melvyn Maseyk, rider of Cold War, was fined Rs. 3,000 for not making sufficient efforts to improve his position on his mount in the second division of the Thundering Plate run on Oct. 5.

In the Her Majesty Plate (Div. I), Rajesh Babu, rider of Scottsville, was fined Rs. 1,000 for excessive use of whip (first infringement).

In the Police Cup (1,200m), Shahbuddin, rider of Strong Rumours, was fined Rs. 4,000 for causing interference to Tough Love approaching 1,000m and for causing severe interference to Torrentee approaching 400m and again to Silver Cat approaching 300m.

In the second division of the Nainital Plate (1,200m) run on Oct. 6, Shahbuddin, rider of Ghadothkach, was fined Rs. 2,000 for not being alert at the start and for repeatedly checking his mount for no apparent reason soon after the jump out, and Christopher, rider of Ziggy Stardust, was fined Rs. 3,000 for losing his position and not making sufficient efforts to improve his position between 900 and 600m.

In the first division of the above race, Tauseef Ahmed, rider of Bossy Boss, was fined Rs. 2,000 for failing to arrive in time to fulfil his riding engagement.

In the first division of K. T. Shamaiah Gowda Memorial Trophy (1,400m), P. Ramesh, rider of Maple Fondant, was fined Rs. 1,000 for not sufficiently persevering with his mount during the race and in the second division of this race, Jagadeesh, rider of Indigenous, was fined Rs. 1,000 for coming in and causing interference to Masurathi and Dakota Fanning soon after the jump out.
