GULBARGA: A two-day training programme for high school teachers will be held at the Mathru Chaya Educational Society's Pre University College in Sedam from October 14.
Upgrading skills
The programme, sponsored by the Karnataka Science and Technology Academy, is aimed at upgrading their skills in teaching methodology and thus improve the pass percentage in the SSLC examination. Member of the academy P.S. Shankar told The Hindu here on Tuesday that the academy had chosen Sedam taluk in Yadgir Educational District since the pass percentage in the taluk was one of the lowest not only in the district but also in the State. He said during the in-house training programme for teachers drawn from different government, aided and unaided high schools in Sedam taluk, they would be provided accommodation and food free of cost. Travelling expenses would also be covered. Three experts Chennareddy Patil, Madhukar Mashalkar and Chidambar Joshi will conduct the training programme from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
