BIDAR: A patient with symptoms of dengue has been admitted to the Government General Hospital here. Preliminary blood tests on the patient turned out to be positive for dengue. District Health and Family Welfare Officer Panduranga Pujari said here on Tuesday that the patient Gangubai Ramesh (30) from Chor Dabuka village in Aurad taluk in the district was admitted to the Government General Hospital with high fever. He said that to confirm the disease, the blood samples had been sent to the National Institute of Virology in Bangalore. The patient's condition was now stable.
Tests conducted
All patients admitted to the government general hospitals, public health centres and community health centres, with symptoms of the disease were being subjected to the required tests, he said. The first case of dengue in the State was reported in Gulbarga district a few days ago when the blood samples of a three-year-old boy from Nadi Sinnur in Gulbarga taluk tested positive for the disease. The patient admitted to the Basaveshwar Teaching and General Hospital in the city, was stable now.
