QUALITY CHECK: Nadendla Manohar, chairman of State Legislature Library Committee, inspecting a book under a scanner at TTD's Sri Venkateswara Digital Library (SVDL) in Tirupati on Tuesday.
TIRUPATI: Good days are ahead for TTD's Sri Venkateswara Digital Library (SVDL), if the assurance of the Andhra Pradesh Legislature Library Committee is translated into action. The legislative committee, the first ever to visit the digital library, which is a part of the US-based Universal Digital Library (UDL) project, went round the SV Central Library and Research Centre (SVCL&RC) at SVETA compound here on Tuesday. The panel chairman Nadendla Manohar and members Shaik Nasarvali and K.Chittabbai, inspected the scanning centre. Mr. Manohar promised to get Rs.5 crores sanctioned in support of the digitisation efforts of the library. At a meeting , which was attended by TTD Executive Officer APVN Sarma and SVDL director Bhuman, the panel members lauded them for attempting to immortalise invaluable epics, manuscripts and other forms of literature.
