Kerala to have railway development corporation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Kerala Government is planning to set up a State-level railway development corporation on the lines of the one in Maharashtra, Minister in charge of railways M. Vijayakumar told the Assembly on Tuesday.

The Minister said the proposal formed part of a series of measures that the Government was contemplating to ensure speedy railway development in the State. The Government would also set up a monitoring cell involving MPs and representatives of the Government and the Railway authorities to follow constantly the implementation of the railway projects.
