Tulasi Group Chairman honoured

GUNTUR: Tulasi Group Chairman and Managing Director Tulasi Ramachandra Prabhu received the National Award for Best Quality Products-2005 in small-scale sector from Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Union Minister for SSIs Mahabeer Prasad at New Delhi on Saturday.

The company release here on Tuesday said that Chaitanya Packagings Private Limited chosen for the award received a cash prize of Rs.25,000 and a citation. The Defence Minister lauding the quality consciousness of the company promised to patronise their products in the defence services also.

The SSI Minister reminded the audience of the Best Entrepreneur Award Mr. Prabhu had received from President APJ Abdul Kalam last year and said SSIs, which had turnover up to Rs. 1 crore had grown into medium size units now.

The criterion for the award was also changed and turnover parameter was increased from Rs. 1 crore to Rs. 5 crores.
