In his condolence message, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) chief, S. K. Poddar, said Suri was an Executive Committee Member of FICCI. "I have personally lost a good friend and FICCI will miss a leader of his stature and experience. All members of FICCI across the country condole the sad and untimely demise of Suri and convey their deepest sympathies to Mrs. Suri and the family members,'' Mr. Poddar said. "The demise of Lalit Suri is a great loss," R. Seshasayee, President, CII, said, adding that, "In Lalit Suri we have lost a very active member of industry and an ace parliamentarian." "His contribution in furthering the cause of Indian Industry, and in particular, the tourism and hospitality sector was immense. He was highly admired. We will miss him,'' he said, echoing the sentiments of other CII members as well. The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) has expressed deep sorrow and anguish over the sudden demise of Lalit Suri.
