Jewellery worth Rs. 45 lakh taken away from shop

TAKING STOCK: Commissioner of Police Narayan Nadamani getting details from owners of the jewellery shop that was burgled, in Hubli on Tuesday.

HUBLI: A jewellery shop here was burgled allegedly by the employees and gold jewellery worth Rs. 45 lakh was stolen on Tuesday.

The incident came to light on Tuesday morning.

According to Paresh Rawal, owners of Mahashakti Jewellers, seven kilograms of gold jewellery has been stolen. He has named in the complaint Vikram who was employed by him and Babusingh who had brought Vikram to work. The accused, who were natives of Rajasthan, are absconding.

Those in nearby shops had seen the two opening the jewellery shop early in the morning, the police said.

Police Commissioner Narayan Nadamani visited the spot. Hubli Town Police have registered a case
