Woman dies of viral fever

KADAPA: A woman, Bharathi, died of viral fever in Mydukur on Monday.

People of some villages in Vanipenta, Annalur and Mittamanupalle in Mydukur mandal are down with viral fevers and undergoing treatment in private hospitals. Chikungunya has affected thousands of people in most parts of the district.

Meanwhile, municipal staff and police personnel shot dead 107 pigs in Jammalamadugu municipality on Monday, on orders of Municipal Commissioner Chandrasekhar. It was decided to kill pigs as they were carriers of various disease-causing viruses, according to in-charge manager M. Gangi Reddy.
