SULFA man killed in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh (Assam): Suspected ULFA (United Liberation Front of Asom) militants shot dead a former colleague and seriously injured a businessman in Upper Assam's Dibrugarh district on Tuesday.

Three ultras raided the house of surrendered ULFA (SULFA) activist Ramkumar Changmai, 35, at Teporsali and shot him from point blank range, police said. Changmai, who surrendered in 1999, died on the spot.

Police suspect that Changmai was killed as he was known to be working as an informer for the Army and the security forces. — PTI
