Rajahmundry: Two persons died, reportedly, of dengue in Rajahmundry on Tuesday. However, the officials are in a dilemma to confirm these deaths. According to the family sources, Saikumar (7) and his cousin Dharmateja (5) of Annapoornammapeta died on Tuesday morning when the two kids were rushed to a private nursing home near their residence. As per the parent's version, the two children had high temperature with rashes on their bodies before they died.
Report awaited
After getting information, Mayor M. S. Chakravarthi, Commissioner C. Nagaraja Rao and Public Health officials rushed to Annapoornammapeta and enquired about the deaths. The Commissioner asked the Public Health Officer to collect the reports of the blood samples taken from the deceased children just before their death. However, the results had not reached Commissioner's office till 7 p.m. on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, the Mayor took the initiative in sending three other children --Sairam (6), Meghana Devi (3) and Haritha Devi (3) of the same area and relatives of the deceased to Visakhapatnam Seven Hills hospital for treatment. The condition of the three children was stated to be critical. It was reported that a 25-year old person died of dengue on Monday in Ramachandrapuram area and it is also a suspected case, according to officials.
