"They will give rural youths an edge in the highly competitive job market"

Vijayakant

TIRUNELVELI: Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam founder president Vijayakant has promised to set up centres for computer training and English learning in local bodies across the State.

Addressing a public meeting at Panagudi, about 60 km from here on the Tirunelveli - Nagercoil National Highway on Tuesday , Mr. Vijayakant said the proposed centres, to be set up in every two or three wards, would provide an edge to rural youths in the highly competitive job market.

Moreover, infrastructure facilities in the corporation, municipality and panchayat union schools would be upgraded to be on a par with standards of private schools.

Besides according top priority to eradicating mosquitoes, government hospitals and primary health centres in rural areas would be equipped with advanced facilities to provide better healthcare.

"Above all, bribes would be wiped out from the hospitals completely," he promised.

Terming the ruling DMK and the AIADMK as "poisonous gases that engulfed Tamil Nadu nearly 40 years ago", Mr. Vijayakant said both parties were taking all efforts to "purchase" votes in the by-election for the Madurai Central Assembly constituency.
