Blue kerosene seized

VIJAYAWADA: Civil supplies officials on Tuesday seized 390 litres of blue kerosene that was illegally stocked at a painting shed in Chittinagar. The raid was conducted on receiving information that diversion was taking place at a house in Durgasi Ramulu Street. The paint shop belongs to one B. Venkateswara Rao.

Circle-I ASO A. Krishna Rao, along with his staff, conducted the raid. Officials said that the kerosene meant for distribution to coupon holders in Gollapudi, Ambapuram and other areas was being diverted for use in paint, mechanical sheds, machinery cleaning and other activities.

The department has placed a strict vigil on supply of blue kerosene.
