Kochi: The Kochi Corporation is pooling all the available resources for the clean garbage drive that has been planned by the State Government on October 13. A meeting of representatives of various political parties, voluntary organisations and non-Governmental Organisations was convened at the chamber of the Kochi Mayor on Tuesday.
Monitoring body
The civic body is actively considering the proposal that came up at the meeting to form a monitoring committee for the removal of garbage from the city. The short-notice call for the action programme has caught the civic body off-guard. Yet, it is approaching all the stakeholders of the city with the request to chip in. Offers for supplying manpower have reached the civic body but not funds and implements for the programme, rues Mayor Mercy Williams.
