Employees to clean Civil Station

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: Employees will clean the premises of the Collectorate on Friday as part of a total sanitation campaign of the Ernakulam district administration.

The sanitation drive will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday. The Civil Station premises will be divided into five for the cleaning. The employees on the five floors of the building will participate.

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting convened by Additional District Magistrate C.P. Ramachandran at the Collectorate to discuss the sanitation drive.

He directed that the garbage collected in offices be burnt in pits the next day. The tendency to throw waste anywhere was to be discouraged. The office authorities should take steps to end the practice.
