AHMEDABAD: Zimbabwe was beaten hollow a second time in the ICC Champions Trophy at the Motera. A semblance of an even contest was evident only for a limited period and Sri Lanka romped home by 144 runs. Batting first, Sri Lanka posted 285 for seven in its alloted 50 overs. Opener Upul Tharanga scored his second successive century of the tournament before falling for 110. Wicketkeeper Kumar Sangakkara made 80. In reply, Zimbabwe was off to a disastrous start as it was reduced to seven for two with the Sri Lankan opening bowlers lasith Malinga and Ruchira Parreira troubling the batsmen. Malinga returned figures of three for 25 off 9.3 overs as Zimbabwe was bowled out for 141 in 42.3 overs. Hamilton Masakadaza and Brendan Taylor top scored with 30 runs each.
