Mumbai: South African opener Herschelle Gibbs arrived here on Wednesday and is likely to be interrogated by the Delhi Police on his alleged role in the 2000 match-fixing scandal in New Delhi on Thursday. Gibbs arrived with his lawyer and was immediately driven to the Taj Intercontinental hotel where the South African team was staying. Although no official confirmation was available so far, it is learnt that Gibbs will fly to the capital and make himself available for the police interrogation. ``All I can say at the moment is that Gibbs will join his teammates on Thursday,'' South African media manager Gordon Templeton said. Initially it was reported that Gibbs and his lawyer would arrive in New Delhi where they would be questioned by the police. ``According to my information, Gibbs will be in Mumbai where he will be interviewed by the Indian police,'' Cricket South Africa (CSA) spokesperson Tshepo Tsotsotso said in Durban. He said after being interviewed, Gibbs would join the South Africa team to prepare for its opening match against New Zealand in the Champions Trophy tournament. PTI
