CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at few places over Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Isolated rainfall occurred over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Dry weather prevailed Telangana and Rayalaseema. The following stations recorded heavy rainfall in centimeters: Vadipatti (Madurai dt.) 9, natham (Dindugal dt.) 8, Sholavandan (Madurai dt.) and Karur 7 each.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: Sulur and Tiruppur (both Coimbatore dt.) and Periyakulam 6 each, Dharapuram and Mulanur (both Erode dt.), Naduvattam (Nilgiris dt.), kadavur (Karur dt.), Nilakottai (Dindigul dt.) 5 each.

Forecast (valid until Friday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
