Corrupt officials to be brought to book

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Government will seek powers with the Centre to take disciplinary action against IAS officials, Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan has said.

Mr. Achuthanandan said in reply to questions in the Assembly on Wednesday that the Government would plug loopholes in the relevant rules so that corrupt officials could be brought to book. Once the Kerala Corrupt Public Servants (Forfeiture) of Properties Bill came into force, it would arm the Government in acting against corrupt officials who amassed wealth.

The Bill had been forwarded to the Vigilance Director.
