Aircel launches `Wimax' in Chennai

CHENNAI : Aircel Business Solutions (ABS), a part of the mobile operator Aircel, launched wireless Internet services through Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (Wimax) technology here on Tuesday. Ram Shinde, Senior Vice President, Aircel Business Solutions, told mediapersons that `Wimax' would enable high speed wireless Internet services at affordable prices. Mr. Shinde said Wimax would employ "near line of site" wireless equipment to facilitate "last mile" connectivity.
