Anganwadi workers meet on October 14

TIRUPATI : The second State-level convention of anganwadi workers and helpers will be conducted in Tirupati on October 14 which is expected to be attended by members from all corners of the State.

The meet, to be held under the auspices of All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), will discuss issues like better social security measures, recognition as Government employees, bringing them into the ambit of minimum wage rules and rationalisation of workload among other issues.

Vice-Chancellor of Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV) Veena Noble Dass formally released the poster ahead of the meet in her chambers on Wednesday, in the presence of AITUC State executive member P.Harinatha Reddy and district general secretary N.Raja Reddy.

She lauded the role of anganwadi workers in maintaining minimum living standards in rural areas and urban slums.
