Guntur
Staff Reporter
GUNTUR: Peepal Tree, an initiative of a group of final year engineering students of RVR & JC Engineering College, will organise workshops on stocks, shares and bonds every Sunday for four weeks in Guntur beginning October 15. It organises seminars, personality development classes, mock interviews, mock press conferences, group discussions to benefit students preparing for CAT and other competitive examinations.
Nominal fee
The organisation charges a nominal fee of Rs. 20 for the material it provides. Many people think that finance/share market is a specialised and different subject and do not show interest in learning about it. But, managing personal finances and investment is a must for everyone, the students opine. "All of us work hard to earn money. It is logical to know where to put the money so that it works for us as well," says Peepal Tree coordinator Rajasekhar.
`A myth'
The myth is that dealing in shares is a risky proposition and investing in them is like gambling with money. But, the risk is proportional to returns, he adds. To clear the common misconceptions and enlighten students on the importance of investment, it has invited Durga Prasad and Ranjith from Kotak Securities to speak on investments and shares in the workshop on `Share - Demystifying'. The venue is Peepal Tree, 5th Line, Brindavan Gardens, on all the four Sundays. Details can be had from Peepal Tree on phone number 9989249246.
