Anganwadi workers' dharna ends

Staff Correspondent

DHARWAD: The 24-hour dharna by anganwadi workers demanding regularisation of their services concluded here on Wednesday morning.

Hundreds of women from various parts of the district had assembled in Dharwad on Tuesday.

They then took out a protest march from the Dr. Mallikarjun Mansur Kalabhavan to the office of the Deputy Commissioner.

After submitting a memorandum in this regard to the Deputy Commissioner, they returned to the venue of their protest near Azad Park and continued their dharna.

Anganwadi workers appealed to the Government to sanction them a temporary pay of Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 1,500 to the helpers.
