Achuthanandan to inaugurate polytechnic jubilee

KOLLAM: Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan will inaugurate the two-day Golden Jubilee celebrations of Sree Narayana Polytechnic at Kottiyam, near here, on October 14.

Principal of the institution B. Jeevan, told presspersons here on Wednesday that the inaugural function would be presided over by the SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan. The public meeting in this connection will be inaugurated by Minister for Agriculture Mullakara Ratnakaran. P. Rajendran, MP, will deliver the keynote address.

Labour Minister P.K. Gurudasan will inaugurate the cultural conference on the second day at a function to be presided over by the former Minister C.V. Padmarajan. Mr. Jeevan said the polytechnic was started in 1957 as a result of the endeavours by the late R. Shankar.
