Janasakthi naxal killed in encounter

Two more Maoists gunned down in Khamman

Sangareddy: Janasakthi (Rajanna faction) State committee member and Medak committee secretary Manturi Nagabhushanam (33) alias Sanjeev alias Subhash was shot dead by the police near Bonala village junction of Chegunta mandal in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to Medak Superintendent of Police P.V. Sunil Kumar, who visited the spot, Nagabhushanam was pillion riding on a number less motorcycle when a police party asked them to stop for a routine check.

Instead, he took out his revolver and shot at the police in a bid to escape into darkness.

However, he died in retaliatory firing by the police. The other person escaped.

Two more killed

Khammam Staff Reporter writes: Two Maoists were killed in an encounter with the police in Perur forest in the evening.

However, some members of the Maoist dalam managed to escape into the forest.

Arms recovered

The police recovered one SLR and one 9 mm rifle from the spot.

Combing is still on in search of the naxalites who gave the slip.
