Students stage dharna seeking basic amenities

KARIMNAGAR: Students belonging to various Government schools of Karimnagar town under the aegis of SFI district unit staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate here on Wednesday demanding solution to a charter of demands including basic amenities of proper sanitation, hygiene, etc.

Several hundreds of students from Government High School, Ramnagar, Kharkanagadda and others participated in the dharna.

Plea to fill posts

Their grievances included flooded classrooms due to rain, unhygienic teaching environment, improper sanitation among other things. They demanded the district authorities to fill up all the vacant teacher posts and provide basic amenities.
