VISAKHAPATNAM: The greater Visakha unit of Bharatiya Janata Party started its preparations for elections to the Legislative Council by commencing the voters' enrolment programme for the graduates' constituency. BJP leaders handed over their enrolment applications, along with copies of degree certificates, to Election Officer Kameswara Rao. Among the leaders were former MLA K. Haribabu, former MLC P.V. Chalapathi Rao, party's national council member P.V. Narayana Rao, State committee member J. Prudhvi Raj, Visakha graduates' constituency in-charge Cheruvu Ramakotaiah, city general secretaries T. Bhaskara Murthy, S.V.S. Prakash Reddy and K.Y.R. Patrudu, State Yuva Morcha committee member Kasi Viswanadha Raju and others. Dr. Haribabu, while addressing a meeting at the graduates' constituency election office, exuded confidence that the educated and enlightened voters would continue their support to the BJP in the revived council. BJP men all over the State were actively engaged in the enrolment programme to ensure success of party candidates, he said. Mr. Chalapathi Rao had won twice from Visakha graduates' constituency and his experience should help the party's candidate win the election, Dr. Haribabu said. Party workers should utilise the services of Mr. Chalapathi Rao, he added.
