Auto-driver gets reward for honesty

KOCHI: The City Police on Wednesday presented an autorickshaw driver a cash prize for displaying honesty and sense of citizenship in returning a bag left in the vehicle by a passenger, which contained money and valuable documents.

The driver C.P. Joseph, residing at Pachalam, got the bag of K.O. George hailing from Sreemoolanagaram containing Rs.49,000, Electrical A Class Contract Licence certificate, Driving Licence and R.C. Book after Mr. George left the bag in the auto.

Mr. Joseph handed over the bag to a shop at Pookkaranmukku for returning it to Mr. George.

Mr. Joseph was rewarded a cash prize and certificate by the City Police Commissioner P. Vijayan at the City Police office on Wednesday morning.
