Awards for social service announced

Thiruvananthapuram: The Sri Chitra Home and Hindu Mahila Mandiram, Poojappura, have bagged the Social Service Excellence Award 2006 instituted by the Kerala Kalakendram. The awards will be presented at a function to be held here on October 14. Staff Reporter

Students injured

Thiruvananthapuram: Three third-year students of Sri Chithira Thirunal Engineering College, Pappanamcode, were injured in an attack on Wednesday night. They were admitted to Medical College Hospital. According to the police, the injured are Ashwin, 19, Akhil, 18, and Liju, 19. The students were attacked around 9.30 p.m. at their residence. The clash between two groups of students had led to the attack, the police said. Four first-year students of the college are already under treatment at the (MCH), following a fight between students at the college on Wednesday afternoon. — Staff Reporter Nominated
