NEW DELHI: Four young men including one described as a notorious burglar from Mumbai have been arrested by the Special Staff of the East Delhi police on charges of committing burglary in an automobile showroom at Ghazipur earlier this month. The police claim to have recovered a small portion of the stolen money from them. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (East Delhi) Ajay Chaudhry, the Special Staff recently learnt that a gang headed by Ramji Lal from Mumbai was active in the district. On Tuesday, Constable Jitender of the Special Staff received a tip-off that the gang members had gathered in the Kalyanpuri area to plan yet another burglary. Subsequently the police raided the place and arrested the four accused, identified as Ramji Lal, Ajay, Pawan and Manoj. Ramji allegedly disclosed that Ajay, who worked in Maruti showroom Competent Automobiles, asked him to commit a burglary in the showroom.
