Iftar brings Lalu and Paswan together

CAMARADERIE: Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav greets Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers and Steel Ram Vilas Paswan during an`iftaar' party in Patna on Thursday.
PATNA:
Thanks to an Iftar party, the Union Steel Minister and LJP chief, Ram Vilas Paswan, the Railway Minister and RJD president, Lalu Prasad, perhaps for the first time after the 2004 Lok Sabha elections, sat together and exchanged pleasantries on Thursday.
Both Mr. Prasad and Mr. Paswan declined to field political questions emphasising the solemnity of the occasion.
Mr. Prasad spoke on the country's diversity and said it was good that political leaders put aside their rivalry in joining such festivities.
Mr. Paswan, on his part, underlined the purity of the Ramzan festival and the message of equality it propagated.
