JAIPUR: England and Pakistan enjoyed good work-outs against local outfits in preparation of the Champions Trophy. England played against Rajasthan Cricket Association XI at the KL Saini stadium with runs coming from the top order and the bowlers also ending up with smiles on their faces.

Andrew Strauss did not get to bat but Ian Bell, skipper Andrew Flintoff, Michael Yardy and Jamie Dalrymple had a good stint. Sajid Mahmood claimed three wickets and James Anderson two wickets as England won by 144 runs.

"I have built it up in the nets. There have been two or three occasions when I have bowled in the nets," Flintoff said on his bowling. "I am feeling strong, assessing myself. I don't know yet if I will be able to bowl in the Champions Trophy."

On the practice match, Flintoff said, "There were a few objectives going into this match. One was to win the game. The batsmen needed to have a bat and the bowlers had to get a few overs. The idea was to spend some time in the middle."

At the Neerja Modi School ground, skipper Younis Khan made a half-century and Shoaib Akhtar bowled a good spell (8-3-13-0) as Pakistan won against another RCA XI selection by 97 runs.

The scores: England 295 for seven in 50 overs (Ian Bell 53, Andrew Flintoff 59, Michael Yardy 44, Jamie Dalrymple 79 n.o.) beat RCA XI 151 in 36.2 overs.

Pakistan 280 for eight in 50 overs (Imran Farhat 49, Younis Khan 64, Shahid Afridi 41; Pankaj Singh four for 46) bt RCA XI 187 for four in 50 overs (Rajesh Vishnoi 92).
