`Government not serious about event'

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Kannada Chaluvali leader Vatal Nagaraj on Wednesday criticised the State Government for what he described as its failure to organise Suvarna Karnataka celebrations on a scale befitting the event.

Speaking to presspersons, Mr. Nagaraj, MLA, and K. Prabhakara Reddy, former MLA, alleged that the State Government had washed its hands of the celebrations.

Mr. Nagaraj said that a high-level committee chaired by Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and district committees headed by Ministers should have been constituted for the purpose.
