ANANTAPUR: The land assignment committees of Dharmavaram, Rayadurg and Kalyanadurg Assembly constituencies in the district have cleared about 1,562 acres of land for distribution among the landless poor from Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe and Backward Classes communities on the State Formation Day on November 1. The committees for Rayadurg and Kalyanadurg segments were convened on Thursday and that of Dharmavaram on Wednesday. While 883 acres of land will be distributed to 234 beneficiaries in eight mandals in Dharmavaram segment, 345 acres will be given to 145 beneficiaries in five mandals of Rayadurg and 334 acres to 99 families in six mandals of Kalyanadurg segments. Dharmavaram RDO G. Venkatesham and legislators G. Jayalaxmamma, M. Govinda Reddy and B.C. Govindappa, MROs, MPPs and ZPTC members also participated.
