Held for murder bid

NEW DELHI: Three persons have been arrested by the police for grievously injuring a woman before committing a robbery in her house at Najafgarh in South-West Delhi on September 28.

According to the police, Simple, wife of Jitender Singh, a resident of West Sagarpur in Najafgarh, was found lying in a pool of blood on the fateful day by her neighbours. She was first rushed to Rao Tula Ram Hospital and subsequently to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, where she is now recuperating.

Investigations revealed that Abid Aliwas missing from his residence. Following surveillance, Abid was arrested and, at his instance, his alleged accomplices Israr Nabi and Prakash Nathan were also arrested.

The police said Israr Nabi, a relative of Abid Ali, had earlier lodged a missing . A "missing" Abid and Israr then planned to commit robbery in the house of Mr. Singh as he appeared to be well off. On the fateful day, the trio reached Mr. Singh's house andpretended that he had sent them to work. They asked for water. When she went inside to fetch water, the trio attacked her from behind.
