CWWA annual welfare exhibition

NEW DELHI: The Central Reserve Police Force Wives' Welfare Organisation (CWWA), a voluntary society involved in welfare of CRPF jawans and their families, will highlight its work at its annual welfare exhibition to be held here from Saturday.

The three-day exhibition will be inaugurated by Bureau of Police Research and Development Director-General Kiran Bedi. It will showcase handicrafts created by the Family Welfare Centres of CRPF.

BJP training camp

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party is organising a two-day training camp in Sector 13 of Dwarka from Saturday for its youth wing.

BJP president Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the camp that will impart the party's ideology and train the youth for future leadership and on how to lead a disciplined life.

Apart from Mr. Singh, senior party leaders including Sushma Swaraj and prominent Delhi leaders including Vijay Goel and and Harsh Vardhan will discuss how the party ideology can be implemented on a day-to-day basis at the camp which will be open to those under 35 years of age.

Cycling team felicitated

NEW DELHI: A cycling team comprising visually impaired and hearing impaired members was given a warm welcome at Venu Eye Institute and Research Centre (VEIRC) here on Thursday to mark World Sight Day.

Besides three visually impaired students and one visually impaired teacher, the team included two hearing impaired students and one sighted teacher, who is also their guide. The tandem cycle tour was flagged off from Patiala on October 5 and it reached Rajghat on Tuesday.

The concept behind building the team was to make it known that the hearing impaired can see and the visually impaired pedalling behind them can hear and together they can overcome their individual impairment.

Culinary competition

NEW DELHI: Chandiwala Hospitality Ensemble 2006, the sixth national level Culinary Competition and Hospitality Brain Twister organised by the Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, ended here on Thursday.

The three-day event was attended by leading lights of the industry and premier hospitality organisations.
