Special Correspondent

Kolkata: Atish Sinha, former leader of the Congress Legislative Party in West Bengal, resigned from the party on Friday.

Announcing this at Behrampore in Murshidabad district, Mr. Sinha said that he and his associates had formed a new political party.

Pradip Bhattacharya, working president of the West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee, said that though he had not been officially intimated of Mr. Sinha's decision to leave the party the decision would not affect the party in any adverse way.
