New Zealand, S. Africa win

MUMBAI: New Zealand beat Baroda by 59 runs in a practice game at the MIG club on Friday.

Meanwhile, Graeme Smith and Jacques Kallis were in fine nick as South Africa recorded a 125-run win over Mumbai XI at the Wankhede Stadium.

The scores: New Zealand 267 for eight (Hamish Marshall 40, Scott Styris 52, Shane Bond 43) beat Baroda 208 for nine (Jacob Martin 45, Satyajit Parab 41).

South Africa 303 for six in 50 overs (G. Smith 76, M. Boucher 49, J. Kallis 71 not out) bt Mumbai XI 178 for eight in 50 overs (A. Muzumdar 67).
