Dalits to embrace Buddhism, Christianity

Nagpur: The All-India Conference of SC/ST Organisations, Lord Buddha Club and the All-India Christian Council will organise mass conversions here on Saturday where a large number of Dalits plan to embrace Buddhism and Christianity, SC/ST Conference president Udit Raj and Council chief Joseph D'Souza said on Friday.

The copies of the anti-conversion laws passed by BJP-ruled States would be burnt on the occasion, Mr. Raj and Mr. D'Souza said. told a joint press conference.

Several international human rights activists from different organisations would be observing the conversions on Saturday, Mr. Raj said. — PTI
